Acacia Layne Frasier

To help the older kids get used to the idea of new baby, we decided to have a birthday party for Acacia. So while I was in the hospital, Grandma Vonda helped Kiersley and Benji decorate shirts to wear at Acacia's birthday party. From what I heard of the event...it was quite an event. The initial idea was to use puff paints and draw pictures. Hah! These ingenous little turkey's decided finger painting was a much better idea (silly mom and grandma for not thinking like a 1 and 3 year old!!). So now the kids all have matching finger painted shirts - which look much more fun and appropriate than painted pictures would have. Note: if the kids are going to fingerpaint, use fingerpaints - because they're much easier to clean up.

Little Bear wasn't being very agreeable for sibling pictures, so I gave him a special birthday cookie to entice him.

The older kids each got to give a gift to Acacia. Kiersley chose a dress (how fitting) and Benji chose a rattling toy. Acacia also gave the kids toys: sand toys, sidewalk chalk and bubbles. Perfect for playing outside!

A lot of people are curious about Acacia's name. My uncle served a mission in Australia. When he came home he talked about the Acacia tree - and how much he loved the name. He said that when he had a daughter he was going to name her Acacia. And ever since I've also loved the name. We were considering this name for Kiersley, and if Benji had been a girl we would have used it for him. So when we found out we were pregnant it just seemed to me as if Acacia had finally come.
So here's some Acacia trivia...acacia wood is what was used to build the ark of the covenant. Some say it was also used to build the Noah's ark. Acacia root is an ingredient in M&M's.
Layne is Ben's mother's and sister's middle name.
