12 Days of Christmas

Someone who was really sneaky choose us as recipients for the 12 Days of Christmas. And let me just say, I am very curious about who did it - and if it was you, I want to know!!! This was something that took several people a lot of time, organization, dedication and service. I felt like this experience was the epitome of the True Spirit of Christmas for several reasons. This was true giving. Whoever did this didn't expect any recognition, in fact they worked very hard NOT to be discovered. They were creative in their gifts and gave our family things that were very useful and fun. This brought our family together. The kids thought it was very magical and amazing that gifts simply showed up on our doorstep. And when Candy Land showed up, we set it up immediately and played together. And recieving the Santa cookie plate and cup gave our family a new tradition to start (which, by the way, Ben as Santa Claus has declared that this is a great Christmas tradition).

You know what, though? I think maybe I was more excited than the kids because throughout each day I thought about what we might get that evening. Which also made me think about ways that I could in turn serve other people and help bring them the same Christmas cheer I felt.

So...whoever you are out there...THANK YOU!!! That was one of the most fun and cheerful Christmas seasons I have experienced because of you. I appreciate your sacrifice of time preparing, shopping and giving us these gifts. And thank you for making them gifts that required family participation. This was truly a Christ-like gift.

  1. We do this every year too, but it wasn't us I promise. We did Lexi's primary teacher from our old ward. It is a great tradition for our family.
